Types of Roles


Providing an innovative dining, drinking and conference facility with theatrical flair requires a range of talented chefs and friendly servers over a range of levels and employment types.  

Box Office

The approachable Ticket Office team provide excellent customer service while proactively selling tickets in this customer-facing role offering fun and flexibility.



Often the hidden function of a theatre, these heroes make the show happen from assisting with the ‘get-in’ to managing the sound and lighting. 



The marketing and promotions teams ensure our customers know about the broad-range of incredible events within the venues' many spaces in this busy but exciting department.


Administration and Management

Off the stage a gifted group of administrators, finance and management teams ensure the venues run smoothly. 


Head Chef

Following a large restaurant, event space and kitchen development within the Churchill Theatre, we are looking for a strong leader with a drive to deliver excellent food to our visitors. Enthusiastic and passionate, the Head Chef plays a pivotal role in the success of our hospitality offer. 

With limited late nights, avg 40 hour weeks and a superb work-life balance, this is a fantastic opportunity in a unique venue.

We are looking for a technician to support the Technical Manager in all aspects of the technical departments’ activities.  This includes but is not limited to:
  • Participate in fit-ups and get-outs working to assist both stage and electrics.
  • Operate the lighting board, sound desks or stage equipment including flying.
  • Rig, focus and de-rig sound and lighting equipment.
  • Assist with the management of casual crew.
  • Assist the Deputy Technical Manager and Chief Electrician in any manner to ensure the smooth operation of fit-ups, get-outs and shows.
  • Participate as required by the Technical Manager in the daily theatre lamp check.
  • Other related duties as may from time to time be reasonably required by the Technical Manager.

Meet the team

We’re committed to training and developing our staff, preparing them for their next step in whichever direction that might be. Here’s the proof.

Ed Brimley

Ed first joined the Churchill Theatre team as a casual technician in 1990. He gained fulltime employment as Sound Technician in 2000 before moving into the Technical Managers role in 2003.

Ed says: ”No two shows are the same. I have had the pleasure of working with many great designers, lighting designers, sound designers and technicians over the years and still enjoy the buzz you get from an audience’s reaction after a 60 hour production week!”


Bob Dean

Bob joined the Churchill Theatre in 2004 as a Handyman before becoming Maintenance Technician in 2005.

Bob says, "I love working with the team at the Churchill Theatre – they’re a happy bunch and there is never a dull moment!"
